The Villawood Properties' Seasons Green Guide is an easy to ready, step-by-step guide to building the most ecologically efficient home and the cost benefits of doing so for people buying at Seasons estate.

Tangible 'hip pocket' savings are clearly set out in conjunction with a focus on the appeal to the average buyers sense of environmental awareness.

The Seasons Green Guide is based on three simple points:

1. To educate the public of the long term financial benefits of 'going green'

2. To help the public understand what the 'best practices' are and how to get the best results over time

3. To present an easy to read and understand guide to 'going green', in a well illustrated and appealing publication

The Green Guide details all angles of buying, building and maintaining an ecologically and energy efficient home with simple images representing messages that appeal to the entire family

The cost benefits are clearly interpreted in yearly terms in table format and outline the simple steps to achieve the best energy rating home and lot orientation achievable.

The publication covers a broad range of environmentally friendly techniques including water efficiency, energy appliances, building materials, and landscaping facts and figures, to give the overall picture on how to get the best sustainability from building a home.

Although Villawood is the first private developer in the western region to introduce and encourage environmentally efficient practices through the Seasons Green Guide, the developers have now taken one step further by offering a financial rebate program called the 'Seasons Star'.

The 'Seasons Star' rating system has been developed in line with modern rating calculations that allow owners to achieve and be rewarded for a five star home in two ways.

1. Five star house rating (using First Rate)
2. Four star house rating (First Rate) + 'Seasons Star'

Villawood managing director Mr Rory Costelloe has offered Seasons buyers up to $2000 in savings to those with five star or more energy ratings, which is an additional rebate to the $1300 rebate already offered for front yard landscaping.
